Saunders Boston was appointed by Somerset Council to undertake the delivery of a new visitor centre. The building now serves as a warm and welcoming visitor and information hub for the country park, while also enhancing facilities for staff, volunteers, and both indoor and outdoor learning.

The structure features a friendly semi-circular design influenced by its historical environment, fostering an inviting public area and aiding in integrating the building with its surroundings. It houses a café and two exhibition areas, with the smaller of the two designated for educational groups to convene, offering various activities to enhance learning. Additionally, the centre includes a 'Changing Places' unit as a distinct accessible restroom, further enhancing the building's accessibility.

The scheme's materiality features a subtle and understated colour palette, predominantly utilising natural and locally sourced timber for the exterior, complemented by a standing seam metal roof. Internally, the finishes consist of a white painted surface with neutral interiors. This subdued palette provides versatility for the exhibition, allowing the artefacts to take centre stage and be appreciated.
