We’re delighted to welcome Andy Chaplin as Director of our Exeter office!
Andy brings extensive experience across the residential sector designing and delivering private and public affordable housing for volume house builders and local authorities across the SW.
Andy also brings broad experience of the education sector covering primary, secondary, FE, HE, extending to student accommodation, and also to commercial and public buildings – which range from fit-outs, retail parks, regional airports and community library design.
He has a strong interest in passive design principles, how people actually use buildings, effective space utilisation, the spaces between buildings, and public engagement. Andy also retains links between academia and practice, acting as professional Part 3 examiner with the RIBA for many years with a proven track record in mentoring and studio tutoring. He has previously acted as a forward judge with RIBA South West Awards and remains an early member of the Design Review Panel and is currently RIBA Exeter Branch Treasurer.
