Named after the worlds longest chalk reef located off the adjacent Norfolk coast, Sheringham’s new Leisure Centre opened its doors to the public at the end of 2021 and has now had it’s official opening.
Designed by SBA, North Norfolk District Council's flagship new scheme includes; community swimming, a splash pad, fitness, studios, community and café spaces and is operated by 'EveryoneActive'.
Replacing the 1980’s ‘Splash’ by architect Will Alsop’s our design pays homage by mirroring his barrel vaulted roof and glulam structure. Drawing inspiration from the natural sedimentary system of the North Norfolk Coast line the design combines glazing, render, stone and timber effect cladding to create a contemporary new form
