Saunders Boston Architects are pleased to have helped deliver the regeneration of Seven Sisters Market. The indoor and outdoor market serves a key role for the community. The regenerative project demonstrates what can be accomplished through collaboration with traders, community organisations and local authorities to support London’s cultural hubs. The updated market is already proving to highlight the distinctive strength, charm and passion of the community it has been designed for.
From the architects perspective this unique project gave opportunity to develop not only an suitable space for traders and local businesses to operate within, but an important meeting location and place of celebration for all. This is expressed through the bold use of colour, intuitive circulation routes and carefully considered features such as the ramped level changes, sheltered walkways and stalls, and the individual trader requirements within the market.
It is a pleasure to witness the warm reception the market has received and we hope it will continue to be a place of joy for all generations to use.
