It was great to bring the project team together for a BBQ and site tour to celebrate the completion of the new Leighton Leisure and Community Centre.
SBA were appointed as Delivery Architect by Willmott Dixon to deliver this circa £33m project for Central Bedfordshire Council. The new facility features an 8-lane, 25m swimming pool, learner and confidence pools, a 150-station fitness suite, exercise studios, squash courts, and flexible community spaces. Once open, it will be operated by Everyone Active.
The event was a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work, collaboration and dedication of everyone involved in delivering this outstanding community facility.
With the official opening taking place on 27 June, it is exciting to see the centre ready to welcome the community and begin its next chapter.
