A 60 home extra care scheme will replace an existing Sanctuary owned outdated sheltered housing scheme in the village. A registered care home which provide 60 beds. Wider community facilities include a bistro/restaurant, café, hairdressers, well-being suite and convenience shop. These are arranged around a village ‘green’ and new public ‘square’.
18No. 55+ years bungalows are arranged in a core and cluster arrangement with care being delivered from the care staff also serving the extra care scheme. 40 other affordable homes are provided and a doctors surgery provides much needed health care facilities and a children’s nursery is provided on site.
120 market sale houses complete the development. Dwellings range from flats to 5 bedroom family homes.
A pedestrian and cycle wildlife ‘corridor’ threads its way through the scheme, connecting various zones and public realm. The development is served by a new bus service, increasing the projects sustainability.
